Canadian Friends of Soroka Medical Center to host their 1st Gala in Toronto

Canadian Friends of Soroka Medical Center to host their 1st Gala in Toronto!

October 18th, 2017 at 6:30 pm.

Sephardic Kehila Center

7026 Bathurst Street Thornhill, Ontario, L4J 8K3

CANADA

Honoring: Dr. Chaim Bell, Maurice Benzacar, Nathan Rosenberg.

The evening will be hosted by Francesca David, Executive Director of the Canadian Friends of Soroka Medical Center, preceded by the national anthems performed by Limore Twena. The opera singer David Serero will perform selective songs during the award ceremony. High dignitaries will attend the very first gala of this important organization such as Councilor James Pasternak.

“Recent world events dominate the news. There is hardly any part of the globe that disaster has not visited – man-made or nature. We try to move forward one step and all too often we are pushed back to where we started, even further depending on what has befallen us.

Tonight, we have an opportunity to leap forward. We have the resources and the desire to do well. All that is needed is here in this room. We honor this evening three individuals from diversified backgrounds who have opened doors for others – not only opened doors but touched the lives of many, many of whom they never knew.

We honor, Dr. Chaim Bell, MD, whose focus is on patient safety and the quality of patient care in hospitals; Maurice Benzacar, actively involved in serving the Sephardi community; and Nathan Rosenberg, Holocaust survivor, businessman, and role model for the Jewish community; three men from different walks of life with one goal – being proud of who they are, and what they are doing.

Another is being honored this evening – You in the audience. You are giving your time and financial donations to make what Soroka Medical Center strives for – saving lives.

It is with a great deal of personal pride that I was a part of the First Gala Tribute Dinner on behalf of the hospital. Like everything today, competition is keen, but I have learned something valuable from researching the honoree's background. To succeed, there are three motivators to adhere to: desire, sacrifice, and doing it my way” said Francesca David, National Executive Director of Canadian Friends of Soroka Medical Center.

About SOROKA MEDICAL CENTER

Soroka was confirmed as the leading hospital by the Israeli Ministry of Health, based on 13 national quality indicators for patient care. At the annual Transparency in Healthcare Conference in June 2017, the Israeli Ministry of Health published the achievements of Israel’s general hospitals concerning 13 national quality indicators. The results were based on Soroka’s outstanding response time to the medical needs of the patients.

Soroka scored highest in various quality indicators.

Prof. Ehud Davidson, Director of Soroka Medical Center commented “Quality care is at the heart of our day-to-day work. This incredible achievement by Soroka brings our excellence in the eld to a new height, and it has turned Soroka’s leadership strategy into reality. I would like to emphasize that this achievement belongs to all of the hospital’s employees, and is the result of the dedication, caring, professionalism, and devotion of our staff to the patients.”
